There are so many advantages to having straight teeth.

From making it easier to brush and maintaining the fresh breath, to having a beautiful smile you can feel proud of, teeth straightening can be life-changing. Thanks to the world-class Invisalign clear aligners system, it’s possible to undergo discreet orthodontic treatment that affords you flexibility and freedom in your day-to-day life.

What is Invisalign?

It’s fair to say that Invisalign has altered what it means to have your teeth straightened. Forget about fixed braces, metal brackets and wires – Invisalign is a removable series of aligners that tackle mild to moderate alignment problems with your teeth. Made from smooth transparent plastic, they’re discreet and can address crowded teeth, bite problems, misaligned teeth and widely spaced teeth.

How does Invisalign treatment work?

  • During a consultation appointment, we examine the health of your teeth and gums, and the way they bite together. If Invisalign is deemed to be suitable for your unique case, we can proceed by taking impressions or a digital scan of your teeth.
  • This is sent away to the Invisalign lab, where custom-made aligners are created for you to wear every 1-2 weeks during the course of your treatment. The average treatment time with Invisalign is usually 12-18 months but can be as little as 3 months.
  • Once we receive the aligners, we invite you in to try them on and proceed with the treatment at home. You will be required to wear them for 22 hours each day.
  • We will invite you along for check-ups every few weeks, to track your progress.
  • Once the aligner-wearing period is complete, you will be given a retainer to wear to stop your teeth from moving back into their original position. You will also be offered a small wire retainer behind your upper and lower front to furthermore retain their position.

Why will Invisalign benefit me?

  • Projection of your results: thanks to state-of-the-art ClinCheck software, you’ll have the amazing luxury of seeing the movements your teeth will go through and how your smile will look, before you even start treatment.
  • Flexibility and freedom: eat and brush just as you normally would, as you have 2 hours each day in which to remove the aligners, without compromising your treatment. This is ideal for those who are looking for a way of straightening their teeth that doesn’t impose upon their day-to-day eating and brushing habits. If you follow a specific diet or think you might struggle with looking after your teeth with fixed braces, this will be a huge advantage for you.
  • Subtle design: Invisalign aligners are transparent, and therefore hardly noticeable to others. You’ll be able to smile with confidence and without feeling self-conscious about others noticing your aligners.
  • Comfort: Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign doesn’t involve having any metal in your mouth. The aligners are custom made to be a great fit for your mouth’s unique anatomy and are made from smooth plastic. This means they’re easy to get used to and eliminates the risk of scratches that can sometimes occur with fixed braces.

What can Invisalign® fix?

invisalign before after

Crowded teeth

Crowded teeth is a condition where you do not have enough room for your teeth to fit normally. This can cause plaque or tartar and other harmful bacteria to build up as it is harder for you to brush and floss well.

invisalign before after

Gaps between teeth

Gaps between teeth is when there is extra space between two or more of your teeth. This can cause pockets between your teeth and gums and can cause food to get stuck making them tender and sore. This might also lead to gum disease.

Open bite

An Open bite is when your upper and lower teeth don't touch when you close your mouth. An open bite can make it hard for you to chew or difficult to bite even the most common of food like apples.

Underbite

An underbite is when you close your mouth and your lower front teeth are in front of your upper teeth. In many cases, this is actually a problem with your lower jaw being too far forward. An underbite can make it hard to chew properly and speak clearly, and it might cause your teeth to wear down more quickly.

Overbite

An overbite is when your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth. Most people have at least a little overbite. When your overbite is too large, your doctor might tell you you have a deep bite. This can cause problems, from your teeth wearing down to pain in your jaw.

Crossbite

A crossbite is when you close your mouth and yet some of your upper teeth are sitting inside your lower teeth rather than on the outside. A crossbite can make your teeth wear down or chip. It can also make your gums start to recede or make little notches above your gum line. This kind of damage can lead to painful gum problems or even bone loss.
