What is a crown?

Crowns are artificial caps that cover the whole of a (delete) tooth, to protect it from further damage and discolouration and to improve the way it looks.

How is a crown performed?

• The tooth is thoroughly examined to establish whether a crown is the most viable treatment option. We may need to build your tooth up for a filling first, depending on how weak and damaged it is.
• Impressions or a digital scan of your tooth are taken so your crown can be created to be in keeping with your whole smile.
• Your crown is fitted at a second appointment.
