Veneers produce an outstanding cosmetic result when it comes to repairing cracks, chips and stains, but they’re also a viable option for closing small gaps in your smile.

If you’re looking to improve the appearance of certain teeth and to protect them from sustaining further damage, porcelain veneers could be the answer.

What are veneers?

Veneers are slim sheets of porcelain that are specially crafted to fit over a tooth that requires cosmetic attention and to protect it from further damage.

How is veneers treatment performed?

Veneers treatment generally takes place over at least 2 visits.

  • The tooth is thoroughly examined to establish whether a veneer is the most viable treatment option. Composite bonding or crowns may also be considered, and your dentist here at KT2 Dental will discuss these options with you.
  • Impressions of your tooth are taken so your veneer can be designed and created.
  • A small amount of tooth enamel is removed so the veneer is of optimum thickness amongst your neighbouring teeth. The teeth are covered with temporary veneers whilst the definitive veneers are being constructed.
  • On the fit visit, the temporary veneers are removed and the permanent veneer is securely bonded to the tooth.

Why will veneers benefit me?

  • Veneers offer an outstanding aesthetic result that looks authentic and in keeping with your smile.
  • They’re more stain-resistant than composite bonding.
  • Cracks, chips and other surface defects will no longer be visible.
  • They’re durable. With the right care, veneers can last in excess of 10 years.
